Welcome to Economic Observations
My name is Christine and I during the Covid Pandemic, I started getting concerned about the unsustainable debt around the world. I began documenting my observations on YouTube.
Since 2010, I have been running and raising money for the Tanzania School Foundation. I lived half the year in Tanzania, building a school and working hard to insure its sustainability and the other half in Massachusetts raising funds. We finally received the government approvals in 2018 and opened our small school. Today, we sponsor a dozen children, it is still not sustainable, thanks to the pandemic, but we are working hard on to ensure it will be educating children for years to come with or without the support of TSF in the USA.
I haven't been back to Tanzania since the pandemic. I arrived back in the USA on March 28, 2020. I haven't been back since. I look forward to going back soon.
Prior to founding and building a school in Tanzania, I was a VP at Goldman Sachs for 25 years. I spent 18 years in Equities, working on the Institutional Trading desk, but was not a trader or in sales. I had a middle office role and dealt with every division in the firm. For the last 7 years I was in the same position, but moved to the Operations Division. I loved working at Goldman Sachs.
Unfortunately, I lost my career at Goldman Sachs in the financial crisis in Feb 2009.
It was a terrible time to find another job, especially in the banking world. I was disheartened by the lack of jobs and the amount of rejections when applying. Luckily, I had an option. I had founded a non profit organization in 2008...I decided I would run and manage it. At least I would be helping people and I would keep busy. I accomplished both.
In 2020 I started my YouTube channel to share my thoughts on this economy after Trillions of dollars were generated and it got my attention.
I am not an economist, but someone who has concerns about the overall health of this economy.
Thanks for visiting!
